Minimum qualifications for the position:
- Hold a valid Virginia teaching license or be willing to meet the requirements for obtaining a Collegiate Professional License with an endorsement in Technology Education.
- Experience teaching and/or working in manufacturing, digital design and/or mechatronics.
- Proficient in design and operation of 3D printing, CNC milling & routing, and robotics & automation technologies including applicable design, slicer, controller and programming software. Prior experience using any of Autodesk Inventor, PreForm, Carbide Create, Carbide Motion, and Robot C. preferred.
- Experience using and teaching/training with e-learning platforms, LMS’s and cloud-based software. Preference given to candidates familiar with using any of Amatrol e-learning and Office 365.
- Experience leading and growing a high school manufacturing systems or relevant program and providing engaging and rigorous activities to prepare students for employment in technical professions especially with local manufacturers.
- Familiarity with industry certifications such as Autodesk Academy, Manufacturing Technician Level 1 and/or Dual enrollment from the local community colleges.
- Evidence of leadership qualities and personal characteristics such as strong communication, vision, creativity, and ability to work both independently and with a team for working with high school students, teachers, administration and the community.
This is a full-time, 220-day position. Salary is based upon an individual’s experience as placed on the Augusta County Public School’s salary structure.
