Classification

Professional Services (PF1) - 260 days per year, 8 hours per day.

 

Summary

The ERP Support and Training Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Augusta County's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Tyler Munis. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of Munis support, including technical troubleshooting, configuration management, user training, data analysis, and providing support to users across various departments.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Provide comprehensive support for all Munis modules, including financials, human resources, payroll, maintenance, transportation, and more.
  2. Partner with the County of Augusta to ensure optimal performance and security.
  3. Analyze user requests and configure Munis settings to meet specific departmental needs.
  4. Develop and deliver comprehensive Munis user training materials and conduct training sessions when necessary.
  5. Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve them efficiently, minimizing system downtime.
  6. Generate reports and analyze data to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
  7. Stay informed about the latest Munis updates, features, and best practices.
  8. Participate in cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  9. Provide ongoing support and assistance to users, both in person and via email, phone, and online chat.
  10. Communicate effectively with users of all technical levels, both verbally and in writing.
  11. Participate in regular meetings and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
  12. Conduct training needs assessments to identify specific training requirements for different departments and roles.
  13. Create and maintain a training curriculum to ensure consistent knowledge transfer.
  14. Develop effective training methods, including classroom instruction, online modules, and hands-on exercises.
  15. Provide ongoing support and coaching to employees after training to reinforce learning and address questions.
  16. Track training attendance, completion rates, and employee feedback to measure training effectiveness.
  17. Develop and maintain a knowledge base, FAQ, or support resource for user reference.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Project-based team efforts may require supervisory responsibilities of various support teams.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with ERP systems or similar enterprise-level systems (e.g., Munis, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Strong technical skills in troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with Tyler Munis ERP and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python).
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, teachers, and school board.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Hold a valid Virginia driver’s license
